Built between 1921 and 1955 by Italian artist Simon Rodia, the Watts Towers are one of LA’s most unique outdoor sculptures. Comprised of 17 non-traditional vernacular sculptures made from steel rods, pipes and mortar, the tallest of the Watts Towers rise 99 feet into the sky.

They are considered one of the finest examples of American “Naive” art — constructed with found objects such as green soda bottles, blue Milk of Magnesia bottles, and damaged Malibu pottery. Rodia called his creation Nuestro Pueblo — or “Our Town.”

During your visit, pop into the Watts Tours Arts Center, where you can take a guided tour, enjoy a variety of art classes, or view their world collection of musical instruments.
